About Chiropractic Moves

Chiropractic Moves is a family chiropractic practice in Paddington, Brisbane, owned and run by husband-and-wife chiropractors Dr Michael O'Doherty and Dr Amanda O'Doherty. Both graduated from Macquarie University in Sydney and both are members of Chiropractic Australia. The practice is built around an evidence-based approach: a thorough assessment, a clear explanation of what is driving a patient's pain, and a structured care plan that pairs hands-on treatment with exercise-based rehabilitation, with the aim of results lasting rather than fading between visits.

Dr Michael O'Doherty holds a B.Chiro Sci. and M.Chiro. from Macquarie University, and has undertaken further study in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation, Functional Movement Screening, courses through Sports Chiropractic Australia, and orofacial myofunctional therapy through The Centre for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. His special interests are sports and exercise injuries, jaw problems, and strength and rehabilitation. Dr Amanda O'Doherty (née Collins) holds a B.Chiro Sci., M.Chiro. and Daccp. from Macquarie University, including a two-year postgraduate qualification in chiropractic paediatrics. Her further studies span Pregnancy and Post Partum Corrective Exercise, Total Body Modification, Applied Kinesiology and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation, and she has a particular interest in caring for women through pregnancy and beyond.

Between them the practice offers care for patients presenting with lower back and neck pain, headaches, jaw complaints, shoulder and tendon problems, sports injuries, and the postural strain that comes with desk work. The clinic is set up as a welcoming space for the whole family, from young children through to grandparents, and both practitioners are parents themselves.

Practically, the practice provides treatment on the initial appointment where chiropractic care is appropriate, rather than requiring patients to return for a separate report-of-findings session. HICAPS facilities are available on site for on-the-spot private health fund claiming, with patients paying only the gap. Appointments can be booked online, and there is on-site parking as well as free street parking nearby.
