Charlton Chiropractic Redbank

Charlton Chiropractic Redbank is a single-practitioner chiropractic clinic at 6/59 Brisbane Road, Redbank, in the Ipswich region of south-east Queensland. It has been locally owned and operated by Dr Michael Charlton since 2017. Dr Charlton grew up around the profession — his father practised as a chiropractor — and he describes what stayed with him as the relationships his father built and the difference a thoughtful conversation could make, rather than the treatment itself.

Dr Charlton holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Chiropractic) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic from RMIT University, completed in 2011, and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (registration number CHI0001662754). He has more than 15 years of clinical experience, is certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics, and lists ongoing professional education in posture, spinal rehabilitation and evidence-informed chiropractic care. He is supported at the practice by Shannon, the clinic’s chiropractic assistant, who looks after reception and administration.

Visits begin with a consultation in which Dr Charlton listens to a person’s history and what they would like to get back to doing. If it appears chiropractic care may be appropriate, he then completes an examination relevant to that presentation before explaining the findings in plain language and discussing the next step. Where another health professional is the more suitable pathway, he will make a referral or coordinate with the person’s GP. He describes the clinic as a small, focused practice rather than a high-volume one, with word of mouth its main source of new patients.

The practice serves Redbank alongside Ipswich, Ripley, Ripley South, Forest Lake, Richlands and surrounding suburbs, and has cared for local families from young children through to grandparents. No referral is required to see a chiropractor, and appointments can be arranged online or by phoning the clinic. A new-patient consultation and examination is $125, private health fund rebates can be claimed on the spot through HICAPS, and the practice also sees DVA and WorkCover patients, as well as Medicare patients, who pay the standard fee and claim their rebate.
