About Burswood Health Professionals | Part of WA Health Group

Burswood Health is an interdisciplinary clinic on Harvey Street in Burswood, a minute from Victoria Park and East Perth and close to the CBD, where chiropractic sits alongside physiotherapy, podiatry and exercise physiology under one roof. The practice describes chiropractic as a discipline that emphasises the body's own recuperative power without drugs or surgery, and the model is built so a patient can be handed across disciplines rather than sent away.

Four registered chiropractors practise here. Dr Alex Malton, a Murdoch graduate registered since 2008, spent years serving Bunbury, Moora, Esperance and Mandurah before Burswood; he works across manual and instrument-assisted adjusting, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Neuro-Emotional Technique, trigger point therapy and dry needling, and treats the whole body rather than the complaint in isolation. Dr Marlon Thoresson graduated in South Africa in 2003 and has practised across South Africa, Malaysia and New Zealand, combining diversified adjusting, myofascial release, dry needling and postural assessment for spinal dysfunction, sports and workplace injuries and chronic tension. Dr Daniel Sudran holds a double degree from Murdoch, including a BClinChiro with Distinction, and is a former competitive rock climber whose focus is spinal and nerve-related pain, headaches, neck tension and upper limb injuries. Dr Lucy Radford, also Murdoch-trained and a Clinical Pilates instructor, came to chiropractic after a hip injury of her own and works gently and preventatively.

The allied side is deep: two APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, a podiatrist with an Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines who handles orthotics, minor foot surgery and diabetic foot care, and an accredited exercise physiologist working with diabetes, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Treatment draws on acupuncture, cold laser, soft tissue work and rehabilitation, and the clinic keeps a public knowledge base of home exercises and articles.

The clinic is open until 7pm four nights a week and on Saturday mornings.
