Atlas Chiropractic | Gold Coast

Atlas Chiropractic is an upper cervical chiropractic practice on the Gold Coast, working from rooms at 15 Lake Street, Varsity Lakes, a short drive from Robina. It is led by principal chiropractor Dr Darren Scheuner, who holds a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in the United States and has been a registered chiropractor in Australia since 2003. He has since completed board certification as an Atlas Orthogonist, a technique certification rather than an AHPRA-recognised specialty, as Australia does not recognise chiropractic specialties.

Care at the practice is organised around the alignment of the atlas, the first bone of the spine. The clinic follows a structured approach: a complimentary educational visit first, then case history and upper cervical examination, an upper cervical X-ray series with detailed analysis, and a full report of findings before any care begins. Adjustments are delivered using an Atlas Orthogonal Adjusting Instrument, with scanning palpation and leg length analysis recorded beforehand.

The clinic operates as a small multi-disciplinary team. An in-house naturopath consults from the practice and works with live cell blood analysis, while a Buteyko breathing practitioner runs a breathing re-education program supported by CapnoTrainer biofeedback technology and offers a complimentary breathing assessment. The team has also developed its own education programs built around posture, breathing and everyday self-care.

Atlas Chiropractic sees clients of all ages, from children through to older adults, and consults Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, plus the second Saturday of each month.
