Hervey Bay Family Chiropractic

Hervey Bay Family Chiropractic is a small, single-practitioner chiropractic clinic at 32 Honiton Street, Torquay, in the Hervey Bay area on Queensland's Fraser Coast. It is owned and run by Dr Belinda Young, who holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science) and a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science from RMIT University, completed in 2005, and who has held general registration as a chiropractor with AHPRA (CHI0001129197) since December of that year.

Dr Young comes to the Fraser Coast after around twenty years in practice in Geelong, Victoria, where she founded and ran Heart Chiropractic before selling it. She has written that the move followed her husband's motorbike accident, which prompted the family to rethink the balance between work and everything else, and she speaks warmly about the patients and families she looked after across those two decades. Hervey Bay Family Chiropractic is her fresh start in Queensland, and as a newly opened practice it is still settling in — she notes on her website that she is working out her hours and invites people to get in touch directly if the times listed do not suit.

The practice is built around paying attention to the body's early signals rather than waiting for them to get loud. Dr Young describes her aim as helping people make sense of what their body is telling them and take back a sense of control over their own health, and she is candid that pain is what brings most people through the door. Alongside chiropractic consultations she offers Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, a hair-sample minerals assessment she uses to inform dietary, supplementation and lifestyle suggestions, and she publishes short follow-along movement videos on her website at no cost.
