Birkdale Chiropractic

Birkdale Chiropractic operates from Shop 4/112 Birkdale Road, Birkdale, serving the local community and the surrounding Redlands Coast suburbs of Wellington Point, Thorneside, Alexandra Hills and Ormiston. It is a family-focused clinic that welcomes children, women and families, with a strong interest in women's health and family care. Principal chiropractor Sarah Young has been a chiropractic patient herself since the age of 11, and that personal experience ultimately led her to choose the profession as a career.

Both of the clinic's chiropractors are women. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, a Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic from Central Queensland University. She is joined by Adele Klints, who also completed a Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic at Central Queensland University. Adele's clinical interests include headaches, hypermobility (including people living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome) and more complex musculoskeletal presentations, and her multimodal approach can draw on techniques such as Diversified, Thompson drop-piece and Sacro Occipital Technique alongside mobilisation and movement advice.

Care begins with a comprehensive examination incorporating chiropractic, neurological, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal testing. Findings are explained in easy-to-understand language, a personalised plan is developed, and progress is reassessed regularly. Manual and instrument-assisted adjustments are selected according to each patient's needs and comfort. Where X-rays are clinically indicated they are arranged offsite and bulk billed through Medicare where eligible, and if chiropractic care is not suitable for a presentation, the clinic facilitates referral to an appropriate practitioner.

New patients can start with a complimentary consultation, a brief, no-obligation conversation about their health history and whether chiropractic care may be appropriate for them. An initial consultation is priced at $100. The practice accepts Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans and Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) referrals, and appointments can be booked online. Beyond the clinic, Birkdale Chiropractic offers complimentary posture screenings and educational sessions for local businesses, fitness studios and community organisations across the Redlands.
